THe Burkesville Street Phase of the Downtown Project is rolling with almost no interference with traffic, almost no noticeable changes above ground as it proceeds. This morning, a 2" water line was threaded under Burkesville Street to provide reliable clean water to the United Methodist Church's water meter. Streets momentarily closed were Madison Alley, and E Guardian, Thursday.

Mayor Hardwick recognizes, identifies secret scarf sharer

Mayor Curtis Hardwick has identified a secret sharer, who has hung scarves on lamp posts on the Square with waterproof notes. It is Ray Lynn Lee, who is a recruiter/trainer for famlly services in Columbia, KY. "This thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated," Mayor Hardwick said, adding that it is the kind of gesture which makes the Square symbolic of the kind of town Columbia is.
