Angie Freeman, expanded foods and nutrition program assistant at Taylor County Extension Office, shows CHS students how to make a 10-minute bean soup, as freshman Emily Kerns adds the beans. Students in Campbell's foods and nutrition class learned how to make a healthy and cost-effective bean soup. Freeman told students that the first step to making the soup is to cook the vegetables and then add the remaining ingredients. The soup included onions, garlic, tomatoes, lemon juice, chicken broth, kale and great northern beans. The filing deadline for candidates passed no fanfare, and not activity for the day. Latecomers at 4pmCT, today, January 30, 2018 were locked out, and Nadalie Inscho, who has been somewhat of the candidate filing specialist was back to closing out the day's work, as on a regular work day. The County Clerk's office tallies each day's activities, much as banks and businesses. The candidate filings will be reported to the Secretary of State's office, and will appear online as the Frankfort office catches up. - EW.
