LWC's Alexis Kessler 1st first two-time NAIA National champion!
2018-03-03 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Lindsey Wilson College. Alexis Kessler is the granddaughter of Edward & Linda Kessler of Columbia, KY, and the daughter of Timothy Kessler and Lori Dennison Kessler, Lexington, KY. She has many relatives in Adair and surrounding counties who are very proud of her and now, even more so, since the amazing sophomore from Lexington became the first two-time national champion in LWC swimming program history. Kessler captured the 50 free title Thursday, March 2, 2018, with a time of 23.36 seconds. She captured the 100 fly title Friday, March 3, 2018, with a time of 56.07 which was .92 seconds faster than her preliminary heat time earlier in the day. Intriguing vehicle on Fairground Street drawing attention
2018-03-03 - Taylor Services, 506 Fairgrounds St, Columbia, KY, - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Traffic slows - as it should anyway at this point - at the sight of this vehicle,
which, at first glance, might appear to be steam powered. It's not, but has a purpose.

Andrew Smith puts nail in coffin in MSC Tournament
2018-03-03 - East Kentucky Expo Center, 126 Main Street, Pikeville, KY - Photo by CU Athletics . Andrew Smith puts the nail in the coffin after his dunk with 5:57 left as Campbellsville upset Life University, 82-64, in the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday, March 2, 2018. Trailing by eight points at halftime, 42-34, Campbellsville men's basketball pulled the first upset of the Mid-South Conference Tournament by flipping the eight-point deficit into an 18-point win over Life University, 82-64. The win is the first for Brent Vernon over his former boss, Keith Adkins, and the Life Running Eagles. Campbellsville now heads into the Mid-South Conference semifinal looking for another first in Vernon's career – a win over University of Pikeville. The Tigers and top-seeded Bears tipoff at 1pmCT/2pmET in the East Ky. Expo Center. - Jordan Alves, Sports Information Director.

Scenic Putman (of Adair) County, KY - Frisky weather
2018-03-03 - Putman County section of Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Don't think it was their speed which sent manes flying in the wind. A gently wind handled that detail. But it was nice to watch their friendly curiosity and friskiness on a late February 2018 day. "Putman County" is, of course, a loosely defined unofficial subsection of Adair County - mostly or all, for Election 2018 purposes, in District 1. - EW
