Blue Star (Amsonia tabernaemontana) is looking good in the little garden at the Adair Public Library. It is part of the Monarch Butterfly Station put in by the Adair County Garden Club in 2016. The Monarch rest and food stations were developed in two gardens on the back side of the building. The sign, if the butterflies get close enough to read it, states that it is theirs for the using. The bridge above replaced perhaps a narrow, dangerous one over Glens Fork Creek. It was built by the State - not the county - but it happened only after years of working together, across party lines. I appreciate the many times I heard people call it the "Sammy Baker Bridge," and appreciate the thought. The important thing is that, together, we got the bridge after decades - more than a half a century - since the problems were first recognized.
