The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, traditionally led by students, was led this meeting by ACMS Principal Alma Rich who said they'd selected student Gabriell Salyers, the first middle school student to ever win an Allstate art contest, to lead the pledge at this meeting but she was unable to be present due to family sickness. Mrs. Rich recommended everyone take an opportunity to see Gabby's work posted in the hallway at the middle school which shows her great talent. Birds of Kentucky: Duck at Long Run 2018-05-19 - Jefferson Co., KY - Photo by Pen. A mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) spotted at Long Run Park in Eastern Jefferson County. According to the Wikipedia entry on Mallards, they "live in wetlands, eat water plants and small animals, and are social animals preferring to congregate in groups or flocks of varying sizes.
