A rainbow arched over this home on Hwy 55 Monday, June 18, 2018 and inspired this traveler who sent the photo and wonders who lives there. Debbie Murray was on her way home to Columbia from her work in the IT Department at Campbellsville University, keeping an eye out for changing weather, when she spotted it and wrote, "I NEVER skip an opportunity to take a picture of a rainbow!! I don’t know who lives here but it’s a perfect picture of their house being covered by His promise!! Oh my goodness this seriously just made my day!! Escher-ish play place 2018-06-18 - Columbus, IN - Photo by Pen. At first glance, the way the eyes are drawn upward, it looked like an M.C. Escher "Relativity" work of art. However, on second glance we noticed all the people in the photo were real and way in the top left of the climbing structure were our six and seven-year-old granddaughters, Hailey and Tillie! So happy to report they made it safely back to ground level in The Commons Indoor Playground in Columbus, IN. Kids Bucks meant to improve health of Adair youth 2018-06-18 - FM2, corner Merchant and Campbellsville Streets, Columbia, KY - Photo by Janet Cowherd. Darrell Burnell and Donna Jones, co-directors of the Farmers Market on the Square, FM2, in Columbia are the proud recipients of a $1,050 grant for Kids Buck Vouchers. The goal of this grant is to reduce the prevalence of chronic disease in Adair County by encouraging children and youth to increase fresh produce in their diets. Adair County WATCH Coalition and Lake Cumberland District Health Department secured the "mini" grant through Appalachian Diabetes Control and Translation Project (ADCTP). The grant also provides funds for educational materials for children which the Market will be distributing. Lake Cumberland District Health Department and Farmers Market on the Square are delighted to collaborate to improve the health of youth in Adair County. Elementary students attend JOY Ministries summer camp 2018-06-18 - JOY Ministries Crisis Resource Center, 212 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Krystal Cundiff. JOY Ministries has provided two weeks of camp this summer to allow students to have options on free camps. They have done a lot of team building activities, STEM lessons, home cooked meals, devotions, toured LWC and Green River to hike and picnic. Pictured from left are elementary school students Crystal Mendoza, Peter Mendoza, Emma Burton, Maddie Streeval, JJ Jones, Cassie Cramer, Marli Smith, Javion Momanyi and Isaac Hawkins.
