Wildflowers of KY - Cranefly Orchid by Derek Coomer 2018-08-08 - Photo by Derek Coomer. Just sending along a photo of an overlooked late summer wildflower. The cranefly orchid spends most of the year as a single leaf on the forest floor. The leaves are easy to recognize because the topside is dark green and the underside a deep purple.
