2018-08-27 - Haven Mission, 300 Merchant Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Searching for deep meaning this morning, found this scene, which must portend something, but would leave that to others with the ordination to interpret such matters. And hope some learned ornithologist might ID the birds. the two lower ones look like twins, sibs, or first cousin kin, and may the offspring of the supreme, alpha. Maybe not. - EW

Wildflowers of KY - Swamp Milkweed, Sulphur Creek Bottomland

2018-08-26 - Taylor Mill Road, Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
This week is the first time I've seen Swamp Milkweed, a favorite feast for butterflies, in this pretty pink hue. Usually, Milkweed is spotted in its flaming orange color. It adds a really effective foreground for the Joe Pye Weed and Iron Weed which could be seen in a larger photo. - LW. (Photo Fri 24 Aug 2018, in the evening.)
