Gene Hoots name added to local fire department honors 2018-09-15 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Pam Hoots. The name of Walter Eugene (Gene) Hoots was added to the memorial plaque at the Columbia-Adair County Fire Department in a special ceremony at the firehouse. The plaque recognizes former members of the local department and Gene Hoots was one of the original members of the local fire department.
