Downtown Days: Cheri Olson's creation shared at Quilt Show

Cheri Olson created this award winning quilt project to tell the story of her horse Mondo. She even worked in the sample of Mondo's mane, shown in this picture. She hand painted Mondo. Each layer of fabric is different and is a story in itself, She put it all together with free-motion machine quilting.

Joyful Hearts Quilt Guild holds contest and show at CBC

The Joyful Hearts Quilt Guild held a contest and show at the Columbia Baptist Church, 200 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY over the Downtown Days celebration. Standing amid some 53 quilts - 53 works of art - are, from left, Kathy Jones, Cheryl Tillery, Cheri Olson and her mother, Jackie Cadle. Each had works in the show.

Downtown Days: Kasey Blue and McLean

New for this year's Downtown Days was this large chalk board with a deep question - the start of a bucket list, perhaps? The "Before I Die I Want To..." board filled up quickly and anonymously with answers such as "go to Hawaii", "geve (give) kids money", and "publish a 180 page book".

Pictured left to right (and their answers remaining a secret) are Kasey Blue, the seven-year-old son of Eddie and Tiffany Kessler, and McLean, the seven-year-old daughter of Max and Heather Wise.

Downtown Days: Rotary Club President Jerry Holt

Tiffany writes, "We created Google-like red pins so everyone could use it as a souvenir photo from this year's Downtown Days! Larry Joe Smith had just come from Moore's Pool Room when we snapped his photo with the red Google-like dot. The courthouse made a great backdrop."
