It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

A stop by the Adair County Courthouse Annex found a huge Christmas tree in the entryway beside the wall marker declaring the 1992 opening of the building. Richard Lee Walker was the Judge Executive; Pam Smith was Deputy CJE; Ray Hutchison was the County Attorney Lynn McLean was Treasurer. Magistrates in 1992 were: Treva Downey Ballou, Lowell W. Goodin, Tony Loy, Wid Harris, Russell Guy Perkins, Joe Rogers and Fred Sexton.

Working the annual Jaycees Radio Auction to help others
 2018-12-06 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Amanda Davis. The annual Adair County Jaycees radio auction fundraiser is underway again tonight, December 6, 2018, from 6-9pmCT. Items that have been donated are being auctioned to the highest call-in bidders and proceeds will be used to help families at Christmas with food and toys. Some of those working last night at the start of the auction, answering phones and running bids to the ones on the radio and announcing were Jamie Hadley, Dan Held, Adam Roy, Cameron Cox, Sara Davis, Becky Brockman, Anthony Brockman, Marc Evans, Jason Stotts, Jennifer Carter and Marshall Judd.

Sheriff-elect Brockman at Sheriff's Conference in Louisville

Over a 7 day period, the newly elected sheriffs are being trained on the constitutional duties of a sheriff in addition to the expected law enforcement duties they perform in their respective counties.
This is the 89th conference sponsored by the Kentucky Sheriff's Association. There were 73 returning sheriffs and 47 newly elected sheriffs in attendance.
