Coal barges sink in Ohio River 2018-12-29 - Louisville, KY - Photo by Pen. Billy Kobin with the Courier-Journal reports that "Three barges carrying coal sank in the Ohio River near Louisville on Wednesday after one barge hit the Clark Memorial Bridge the night before. The barges were pinned up against a dam on the Ohio River after coming loose from a tugboat, which was pushing 15 barges. About 8:30 p.m., one of the barges hit the Clark Memorial Bridge, causing the others to get loose and float downriver. The incident happened closer to the Indiana side of the bridge, said Lt. Cmdr.
