Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles served as guest speaker Tuesday night at the Adair County Cattlemen's Association annual meeting. After a heated chili cook off, Commissioner Quarles gave an update on Ag issues facing rural Kentuckians.

Justice Debra Hembree Lambert will be invested formally in ceremonies conducted in the Kentucky Supreme Court Courtroom, 700 Capitol Ave., Frankfort, KY on Monday, Febrary 4, 2019 at 1:30pmET/12:30pmCT.

Justice Lambert will serve the 3rd Supreme Court District, which is comprised of 27 counties, including Adair and the surrounding counties.

Adair School Called Off - Snow changes plans for one-hour delay

Snow is at about the one-inch mark in southern Adair County as school officials are out checking for the possibility of safe travel this morning. At 4:46amCT Transportation Director David Jones called from the Hwy 61 Country Mart in Breeding, shown here, and announced that Schools will be closed in Adair. A plan had been made for a delay, but with the snow added to the extreme weather, it was decided there will be no school in Adair today, Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Surrounding County schools are also closed today. - LW

This sweet girl is a hound mix with red tint to her fur. She's around six months old and would make a perfect addition to any home. Great with other dogs, cats, and does well on a leash. Loves to play and nuzzle up to people for comfort. Available at Green River Animal Shelter, 455 Appleby Dr, Columbia. 600 Wins at LWC

Lindsey Wilson women's basketball coach John B. Wethington poses with the team after his 600th career win as a head coach on Monday night at Biggers Sports Center.

Wethington -- now in his 30th season as the head coach on the Lindsey Wilson sideline -- is the program's all-time leader in wins and ranks third among the active coaches in the NAIA. He owns a .638 winning percentage with 25 winning seasons, including 17 20-win seasons.
