Forgotten ball 2019-02-06 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Tiffany Kessler. A lost and found from summer. Strong winds today swept enough leaves from the edge of our fence to reveal a forgotten baseball. Undoubtedly left behind by a little boy pretending to hit a homer during a humid backyard practice with dad. However, today’s forecast of rain and wind would surely leave any MLB game cancelled. The ball did serve as a reminder that it’s sign up time for Adair County Little League and Softball. If interested, volunteers will be at the Joe Johnson Little League Park (blue building) every Monday from 5pmCT until 8pmCT and Wednesdays from 6pmCT to 8pmCT throughout the month of February. Before the February 4, 2019 monthly meeting of the Columbia City Council began, a large crowd was gathering to hear, and speak if needed, the discussion of the Farmers Market on the Square location. Farmers made the point that they need to know if their location is to be the same as they prepare for the season that begins Saturday, April 6, 2019. The Council asked City Attorney Helm to write a new, updated agreement, and asked the FM2 representatives to bring updated insurance documents for his study. After that is done, a special called meeting will be held for a final vote with expectations that the Market will open in their same place. Her stunning multicolor coat and precious demeanor make her a perfect companion. She is 2-3 years old and is litter box trained. I met Kit Kat when there were a couple other dogs and cats milling around waiting to be photographed. She didn't mind them at all and in fact started purring when loved on.
