Liberty Road General Store & Diner ready for holiday

Before you go inside for lunch at Patty’s Liberty Road General Store & Diner you’ll see the pretty flowers on the porch ready for Memorial Day weekend. Special hours will be in effect this weekend. Her birthday is Saturday and she says, “for the first time we’re taking the Monday holiday off!” Sunday & Monday closed. Back to regular hours on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

Emily Howard is Mayor for the Month

Mayor Pam Hoots signed a proclamation declaring May Prader-Willi Syndrome Awareness Month in Columbia. The Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects metabolism, muscle, growth and other characteristics. Working with the group locally are Mary, Emily, Ethan and Faithlyn Howard, Chelsey and Trinity Elliott and Jesse Howard. Emily was excited to be named honorary mayor for the month.

Fire Damage at Conley Bottom

Despite fire damage at Conley Bottom Resort, which destroyed the marina restaurant, the office, and a repair shop, the marina will be open for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

Ashli Watts receives Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award

Dr. Michael V. Carter, along with Board of Trustees Chairman Henry Lee and Dr. Donna Hedgepath, provost and vice president for academic affairs, presented the award to Watts.

Watts graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History in 2004 and holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Louisville.
