New clock in City Council meeting room

Council Members June Parson and Dr. Ronald Rogers are seated in front of the new time piece on the wall of the City Council meeting room in Columbia. The one it replaces had to be retired as it kept loosing time between meetings, requiring everyone to get out their cell phones to check for the exact 6pm start time each month. First Monday meetings are open to the public and citizen comment time is the first item on the agenda.

Cyndi Chadwick and Adrienne Hash with their musical cast

Campbellsville Elementary School recently presented its first-ever musical production. Fifth-graders presented “Madagascar Jr.” The students spent several weeks learning lines, practicing scenes and making costumes. CES teachers Cyndi Chadwick and Adrienne Hash directed the musical.

Writer Christopher Stuchell shares work on CM

Writer Christopher Stuchell, graduate of Adair County High School Class of 2019 published two poems in the Indian University dual-credit program through Lindsey Wilson College.

He releases his poem "Starlight" to CM with its theme of nature, which he said, "seems to be popular on Columbia Magazine."

During high school his involvement has included Future Problem Solvers, Academic Team, Beta, and NHS. Honors and awards received during high school include being Beta/NHS President. Christopher's long range plans are to attend college to major in English and become a teacher.

Rides: 60s era Cadillac

The excellent research conducted by GWSU about the lack of choice in modern car colors reminded me of this restored Cadillac spotted on Sixth Street in Shelbyville a few weeks ago. One of the things that caught my eye was the lovely two-toned blue and white paint scheme.
