Busy as a beaver 2019-07-29 - Russell Co., KY - Photo by Darryl Smith. Darryl writes: "I've attached a few pictures of one of my trees that a beaver has been working on. It did this in one night. This was a nice little Poplar that I saved when I cleared out the creekside a few years back, it's about 10" in diameter. It's on the bank of Hudson Creek off Hwy 1545 in Russell County. I don't see any beaver domiciles nearby and I don't believe that this is going to be the start of a dam; I think it was just a snack for one or more that was/were passing through.
