Courthouse lawn historical markers were discussed at the September meeting of the Adair Heritage Association meeting - a Greensburg Street marker - similar to this one facing Jamestown Street - is missing. Investigations have ruled out that the Greensburg Street historical marker might have been taken down for repairs, nor has it been moved to a different location within the county - it is permanently missing. Lee Ann Jessie said she is in discussion with Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan who will take the matter of replacement before the magistrates. Homeless shelter dedicated to Cally Paige McFall 2019-09-18 - Columbia - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. The new Adair County Homeless Shelter beside the 911 Center in Columbia was dedicated Tuesday, September 17, 2019 as Cally's House - dedicated in loving memory and honor of Cally Paige McFall 10-24-95 to 1-28-19, 'She brought us love and left us with precious memories.' The plaque is held by her mother, Stacey Hatcher Wilson, standing on the porch by the sign designating the shelter Cally's House. The group working to bring the shelter to completion stood with Cally's family on opening day. From left are: Natalie Vickous, Maggie Coleman, Krystal Cundiff, Billy Payne, Lee Ann Jessie, Mayor Pam Hoots, Mary Anne Loy, Thelma and Wayne Hatcher, Caitlyn Bishop and Autumn Bishop, and behind them are Emily Overstreet and Julie Hatcher.
