"Human girls and boys aren’t the only ones who can enjoy a Halloween treat. These are the weaned bunch who moved to the northern Pampered Angus Ranch Farm this week. I know I had several worried since all the girls at the northern branch went on to their forever homes this summer. Not to worry, we are still in the farming community of Greater Bliss with no plans to change that any time soon despite what you might hear. So, hope it was a Happy Halloween from us all at the Pampered Angus Ranch located in Greater Bliss, KY, looking on to the bright lights of New Columbia. The photos were both made at the corner of South Reed and Guardian Streets in Columbia - one day apart. The beautiful yellow tree at left was pictured as the winds whipped up on Halloween day. The bare limbs of that same tree are pictured at right a day later after the weather settled down and its leaves butter the ground underneath. Adair County High School student's ornaments will be on display on the "Kentucky" tree in Washington, DC through December, 2019. Adair is one of 56 schools chosen for a state themed tree - part of the America Celebrates display surrounding the National Christmas Tree. The National Park Foundation funded the project and through a partnership with the National Park Service, the U.S. Department of Education worked with state art and education agencies to identify elementary, middle and high schools whose students would create the ornaments for the America Celebrates display.
