John Shelley winning player on Shelbyville team
 2019-12-04 - Shelby County, KY - Photo from family collection. Recently Adair Public Schools Title 1 Coordinator, John Shelley III, enjoyed a milestone birthday and friends shared memories and photos like this one from his youth. The picture is from the years when his dad was County Agent of Spencer County and John played for the Shelbyville American Legion Post 37 in 1988-89. At that time they recruited players from several counties. He remembers playing for head coach Jim Wiley and team sponsor Bobby Stratton.

David Jones is goin' fishin' in the new year
 2019-12-03 - Columbia - Photo from magazine feature. You saw this fellow in a photo at the recent School Board meeting when his retirement was announced. Now see him in the role he will be moving into full time in the new year. David Jones, featured here on the cover of Crappie USA magazine. His plans are to work at building his year-round fishing guide business, Green River Lake Crappie Trips. On his website, he says, "...I have a desire to spend every minute I can on the lake catching and teaching others about Crappie fishing." On his home page at that link you can take a fishing trip with David and KET's Tim Farmer on Green River Lake.

Watching the NAIA Volleyball Tournament at Cranmer

Cranmer Dining Center was the place to lunch if you wanted to watch the Lindsey Wilson College Volleyball game against Reinhardt U in Iowa today, Tuesday, December 3, 2019. In a post-game report, we won! Lindsey Wilson volleyball opened up its 2019 NAIA National Tournament with a 3-2 victory over No. 24 Reinhardt at the Tyson Events Center.

Adair Genealogy Christmas Social

Jane Grant led the December Genealogy business session after the group's Christmas Social luncheon at the Adair Public Library Monday. Among other scheduling and business items, names are under consideration for the new building which will be built in the new year to house the growing history and genealogy department.

Advent Season begins at Columbia United Methodist Church

Doug Beard, organist, introduced the Lindsey Wilson College brass ensemble and gave a brief history of the Ninth Century hymn 'O Come, O Come, Emmanuel' in the first of five traditional services celebrating the Advent Season at the Columbia United Methodist Church last Sunday. These reflective and inspirational services will tell the story of Christmas through special music. Members of the LWC ensemble were: Dylan Harrison, trumpet one; Lauren Parker, trumpet two; Benjamin Duncan, French horn; Bryan Downs, euphonium; and Justin Butler, tuba.
