It's Elizabeth Smith Day, PHight for Liz

The Adair County School System reminds everyone to wear purple today, Thursday, February 20, 2020 joining in support of "PHight For Liz Day" in honor of Elizabeth Smith, an ACHS freshman who is battling a rare disorder called Pulmonary Hypertension or PH. This disorder has created such problems for Elizabeth that she is awaiting organ transplants for her lungs, heart, liver, and possibly kidneys.

African American History Month proclaimed by Mayor

Mayor Pamela Hoots signed a proclamation to declare February, 2020 as African American History Month. The month recognizes the role that African Americans have played in the history of the USA and in Columbia. Mayor Hoots stands beside a leading African American citizen of Adair County, Mrs. Lilly Duvall, as the proclamation was signed in honor of African American History Month.

Beta Club leaders at Campbellsville Middle School

Campbellsville Middle School has once again made school history at the Kentucky Junior Beta convention. For the past three years, a CMS student has been elected to a state office at the convention. This year, seventh-grader Jaclyn Jackson, at right, was elected president. She is the first CMS student to serve in that office. At left is eighth-grader Chloe Thompson, who served as this year's vice president.
