Going for even more improvements at ACHS

Adair County High School led the GAP performance assessment reports that were given about each of the four schools at the February School Board meeting. Sheila Willis, Curriculum Resource Teacher, and Assistant Principal Chad Parnell put together their goals from the ACHS report card data based on the past year. They were proud of their scores showing no significant gaps, and they looked beyond the good report and want more for their students. Willis outlined their plans that will provide even better future scores in reading and math.

Daffodil Watch 2020: drooping in heavy rain

These beautiful Daffodils were struggling to stand up in the heavy rains of Monday, February 4, 2020. They were getting even more drops sliding off the weeping cheery tree limbs above them.

Rebecca Cravens is new Adair District Athletic Trainer

Superintendent Pamela Stephens announced the hiring of a District Athletic Trainer at the February 20, 2020 School Board meeting. She introduced Rebecca Cravens who starts the job March 2, 2020. Cravens thanked the board members for the opportunity to join the Adair County public school system. She said everyone has been very welcoming and she is excited to begin her work March 2, 2020, and then to add teaching to it this fall. She comes to the school system from Taylor Regional Hospital and is married to Columbia Police Department officer, Adair County native, Adam Cravens. Dr. Stephens praised Dr. Ronald Rogers who she said was part of the interview process and helped in defining the need for this position. She said that TJ health Columbia will be investing to help the schools with the cost of this position.
