Luckey is still missing


2020-03-02 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Margaret Harden. With sadness our Lassie collie dog Luckey has been missing one week today from the Pelham Branch Road area. Please if anyone knows where he may be please let us know. We have searched our farms and joining farms and he is not on them. This gives us reason to believe he is still alive. $100 reward for his safe return. Please call 270-250-2397 or 270 634 4835. --Margaret Harden

Salato Wildlife Center reopens March 3, 2020

The Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort reopens for the season on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources operates the Salato Wildlife Center as part of its mission to inform and educate the public about the state's native wildlife as well as hunting and fishing opportunities. The facility provides indoor and outdoor viewing opportunities for a variety of wildlife, including a bear, eagle, bobcats, deer, bison, birds of prey and more.

The Salato Wildlife Education Center is located at 1 Sportsman's Lane, Frankfort, KY, off U.S. 60, approximately 1.5 miles west of the U.S. 127 intersection in Frankfort. Look for the bronze deer statue at the entrance of the main Kentucky Fish and Wildlife campus.

Once the center reopens, hours will be 8amCT-4pmCT Tuesday through Friday, and 9amCT-4pmCT on Saturdays. Salato will be closed on Sunday, Monday and state holidays. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for youth 5 to 18. Children younger than 5 are admitted free. The center also offers annual memberships for individuals and families.
