 2020-03-08 - Adair Co., KY - Photo from the church. Little Lacy Edwards, 5, was photographed reaching up high to carefully cut out biscuits for the annual Picketts Chapel UMC Country Ham Supper fundraiser. She is the Daughter of Lannie and April Edwards who live in Campbellsville now, formerly of the Mell Ridge area near Pickett's Chapel. Even though they relocated, they still return to their home church.

Making biscuits as fast as they could
 2020-03-08 - Adair Co., KY - Photo from the church. Beth and Gale Cowan and Sandy Coffey were making biscuits and delivering them to the food line as fast as they could for the annual Country Ham Supper fundraiser at Picketts Chapel UMC. They paused to count and it seemed they'd made pans of 60 biscuits about five times when the photo was made and it was only midway through the event.

 2020-03-08 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. The Country Ham Supper at Picketts Chapel United Methodist Church is an annual fundraiser made possible by the members of the curch who volunteer their time and skills. Serving at the February, 2020 event were Lelia Smith, Marilyn Brown, Betty Burris, and Dan Burris at drinks, and in back Jessica Sexton, Pastor David Kemp and others at work. The first wave of the crowds in the packed house had just been served when this picture was made so the dishes were getting ready to be replinished.

Country Ham and fixins drew appreciative crowd
 2020-03-08 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. You'd have thought you were at Sulphur Well but didn't have to drive that far for this traditional south central Kentucky meal. Country ham, homemade biscuits and red eye gravy made for the anchor of the meal served at Picketts Chapel UMC's annual fundraiser. Fried apples, stewed potatoes, coleslaw and green beans with james and jellies on the side, plus drinks of choice, added to it. Donations were accepted for the all you could eat meal.

Fishing the spring white bass run on the Salt River
 2020-03-08 - Anderson Co., KY - Photo courtesy Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. A portion of Old River Road paralleling the Salt River in Anderson County opens Saturday, March 7 to anglers wishing to fish the headwaters of Taylorsville Lake for the spring white bass run. As spring nears and water temperatures approach the low 50s, white bass will "run" from downstream up into the headwaters to spawn, providing fast and exciting fishing action.
