Auction of Garrison tractor collection starts this afternoon

Sean Hitchcock took this photo around the Garrison pond at the 2007 Russell Creek Antique Tractor and Gasoline Engine Show.

The live auction starts today at 1:30pmCT to sell toys, signs and parts, and conntinues starting at 10:30amCT on Saturday for the tractors in the collection of the late Lewis Garrison.

In support of Adair County Jail

The Adair County Regional Jail Report discussion at the March 10, 2020 Fiscal Court meeting drew a crowd of employees and supporters. Budget concerns are creating need for digging down to how monies are to be managed and the staff believes as Jailer Joey White does that this jail operates better than others of the same size situation. The jail has remained in the news as the next day Gov. Andy Beshear called for ending visitation at the facility.

Visitation suspended at Adair Regional Jail

Visitation to the Adair Regional Jail has been suspended after all Kentucky jailers were given recommendations re the COVID - 19 virus that in person visitation would be prohibitive. The visitation suspension includes all visitors to inmates, all volunteer programs by churches, life programs, GED courses, etc. Phone visits and teleconferencing visitation will continue as always. However the only persons allowed into the jail will be employees, law-enforcement and legal representation.

Hoots Scholarship open for applications

Tornado warned area in Northernmost Adair

Mike writes, "Adair County Outdoor Warning Sirens were activated in Knifley and Pellyton as the 7pm tornado warned area was in the Northernmost part of Adair Co. The warning expired at 7:30pmCT."
