Hazardous Weather Outlook
2020-04-12 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Mike Keltner, Adair Co. Emergency Management. Showers and storms are possible this evening through late tonight as a cold front advances toward the region. The strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging winds and heavy rainfall, although hail and a brief tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Best chance for strong to severe storms will be across southern Kentucky.
Strong wind gusts to 50 mph are likely overnight and into Monday morning in the wake of the aforementioned cold front. A Wind Advisory is in effect.

Waiting Patiently
2020-04-12 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. Sometime around their 8th year, many Waggener children achieve such mastery of tree-climbing that they decide to just *stay* 5-15 feet off the ground. Hailey has taken to her favorite tree with snacks, books, and toys, with no immediate intention of coming back down.
Moose, the new Assistant Branch Manager, waits patiently for her return to more dog-friendly elevations.

Have a glorious Easter 2020
2020-04-12 - Columbia - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. These Lilacs and the rolling clouds behind the blossoms speak of the time each year Christians celebrate our Risen Savior Jesus Christ. Wherever you celebrate this year, please be mindful of the need to socially distance and keep yourself and others as safe as possible.

Over Columbia, KY in 1968
2020-04-12 - Columbia - Photo by Max Heath. This picture from the air above Columbia, KY is from the year 1968. The view looks down Burkesville Street to the historic Adair County Courthouse and out Campbellsville Street leaving the Public Square on the opposite side. In the picture, what looks the same today, 52 years later, and what landmarks are no longer part of downtown? This comes to ColumbiaMagazine.com courtesy of Larry Smith and is labeled with the year 1969 and names of professional Central Kentucky News Journal photographers Max Heath and Richard Robards.
