Park Rangers sworn in for jobs at area lakes

Three Park Rangers were sworn in for new jobs at area lakes by Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan on Monday. In the photo at right, the two sworn in were Bryan Cole who will be going to Ft. Boonesboro, and Ron Lanning who will be going to work at Green River Lake State Park. In the photo at left, Howard Barnett is sworn in so he can go to work at Dale Hollow State Park.

ACHS Prom 2020 celebrated from a distance

Photographer Jenna Rodgers was in front of the camera for a change marking the celebration day of her ACHS 2020 Senior Prom, a time she should have been surrounded by classmates but for the Coronavirus which changed everything. Even with those changes, she is positive and grateful, and she has a message for her fellow students and everyone to remember.

Birds of Kentucky: Wood Duck

One of several wood ducks spotted paddling around Long Run Park on a recent weekend. According to the All About Birds page for the wood duck, "Wood Ducks pair up in January, and most birds arriving at the breeding grounds in the spring are already paired. The Wood Duck is the only North American duck that regularly produces two broods in one year."

Happy 60th Anniversary to Stanley and Beulah (Curry) Carter on Monday, April 20, 2020. They were married April 20, 1960, at Bear Wallow United Methodist Church. They have three children: Darrell Carter, Tammy Feese and Katie Campbell.
