Columbia Pharmacy to host Grand Opening on Tuesday

Columbia Pharmacy, located at 803 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY, across from the Post Office, will host their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at NoonCT on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

At Tuesday's big event, prizes and gifts will be given away, food will be provided, and the owners are inviting everyone to stop by. CDC guidelines of social distancing will be followed, and they ask everyone to please wear a mask. More information about prizes will be posted daily to the Columbia Pharmacy FaceBook page.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hosted a news conference at the T.J. Health Pavilion in Glasgow on Tuesday, July 7. Senator McConnell expressed his gratitude for Kentucky's frontline healthcare workers and he discussed the impact of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).

History in the stones at this flower garden

The large stones surrounding this flower garden at the back of the Trabue Russell house in Columbia have had an important role in early history. Once as part of a "springhouse" they protected a gushing spring that furnished water to animals, travelers and early settlers. If stones could be happy, I think the "Springhouse" ones would be glad to now be part of a flower garden, still having an important role in the history of Columbia. - Vonnie Kolbenschlag

Tristan Jayce Rafferty is the 2-1/2 year old grandson of Cindy Edwards. Cindy writes, "He wanted to get in the pool after breakfast, but I suggested a wagon ride until the dew at least dried from the grass, so he was sad LOL."
