Walking across a county in an hour

Just south of the Breeding Country Store, you find yourself entering Metcalfe County. Travel approximately 1 mile or so and you will re-enter Adair county. From that sign travel approximately a quarter of a mile and you will enter Cumberland County at dividing Ridge Road. It's as if the road signs can't make up their minds.

It was on Ed Waggener's bucket list to walk across Metcalfe County and he met that goal, pictured here in 2016, laughing and waving as he neared the finish line - my assigned post. He entertained passers by who slowed to check on the gray haired man in suit and tie walking down the country road.

Trabue Share, Swap, Adopt a Plant, Sat 19 Sept 2020

Fall is the ideal time to divide perennial plants that have become crowded, or relocate plants to other spots in the garden. The Trabue-Russell House Gardens will make their "extras" available on Saturday, September 19, 2020, beginning at 9amCT. It is also a chance for any who have too much of certain plants, to bring their extras along to swap.

Charlea and the big first day hug

Charlea Shaw gave her cat a big hug as she prepared for the first day of kindergarten this week. Charlea is the daughter of Freddie and Allison Shaw of Burkesville and the Granddaughter of Marcus Pierce and Rickey and Patty Arms.
