Scenic Kentucky: Low Elevation Rainbow
2025-10-20 - Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, robertelliswoodworking.com. Robert writes, "I photographed this low, to the ground Rainbow, along the Highway 55 Bypass in Campbellsville. I've never seen one this low in the sky.
A little fuss was involved getting the photo; as usual I had vehicles lined up in behind me (since I poke along doing photography). I caught a glimpse of it initially to my left, and had to wait for the line of cars to pass before I could park near the soybean field in the photo. Then, knowing rainbows diminish about as quickly as they appear, I had to choose my composition rapidly-an (unseen) barn on the left or the tree in the field. The tree was more strategically positioned...so here's the shot!"

Rocktrumpet staying colorful
2025-10-20 - Central Kentucky - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Beautiful Rocktrumpet, known for its vibrant, trumpet-shaped flowers, is providing color this early fall in pinks, reds, and whites, with glossy, dark green leaves. The vines can climb trellises, fence and porch posts. They also work in hanging baskets, and best of all, they attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
