Hoss Cartwright's new toy, Little Joe

2020-10-29 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Victoria Pike of Miss Vicky\'s Pampered Angus Ranch.
This is Little Joe, Hoss Cartwright's new toy on the Pampered Angus Ranch. He thinks Hoss is to be chased through the house around 5am. Not working for me at that hour.

Little Joe's momma decided to hide from him a while and he was boohooing at the back door, talking to Hoss through the door, so I let him in, put flea stuff on and turned him loose. He’s been on Hoss’s heals the last 10 days. I now get it why momma cat disappeared. She’s back now that his butt is inside. Cat crate may become necessary to give Hoss a break.

It occurred to me at the post office Wednesday that the fellow on this sign needed an umbrella for the rain that poured all day. The weather report promises one more day of the same.

2020-10-28 - Frankfort, KY - Photo courtesy Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
Drivers should be aware of deer throughout the year, but the months of October through December bring a spike in deer-related accidents. Shorter periods of daylight and cooler temperatures trigger the deer breeding season - known as the "rut" - putting whitetails on the move.
