CAUD receives USDA grant and loan for water district

Hilda Legg, Kentucky's USDA Rural Development Director, presented over $2.6 million in water system improvement and public safety projects in Adair County this week. Pictured at the Monday Blair Park presentation are, from left: Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman, Columbia Police Chief Jason Cross, Jim Thompson from Kentucky Engineering, Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots, Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan, Joe Pyles, Lenny Stone, Wid Harris, Legg and Congressman James Comer. The Columbia Adair County Utilities District will use the received grant and loan to construct a new waterline, replace substandard waterline, install telemetry and replace three intake pumps at the wastewater treatment plant to improve processes.

Grants announcements held at Blair Park

The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Kentucky State Director Hilda Legg announced today the Trump administration is investing over $2.6 million in water system improvement and public safety projects in Adair County. The outdoor announcement event was attended by Legg and Congressman Jamie Comer along with County and City officials.

After working Sunday accident

First responders head toward their vehicles after assisting teams at the scene of a two car crash on Highway 55/New Columbia Road in Taylor County Sunday afternoon. The Taylor County Sheriffs Office was assisted by Taylor County Fire-Rescue, Campbellsville Police Department and Kentucky State Police.

Vote here today, Election Day 2020

At 6amCT today, November 3, 2020, poll workers are opening up for a 12-hour day in these four locations - top left/clockwise, Trinity United Methodist Church, 2252 Campbellsville Road; Blair Park/Christian Life Center, 904 Hudson Street; VFW Building, 500 Green Hills Road; and the Adair County Courthouse Annex, 424 Public Square.

Because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, everything about this election year has been different. Today, no matter what precinct you would normally vote in, you will be able to cast your ballot in any one of these four locations around Columbia until 6pm. Please vote, please follow safety guidelines, and please do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.
