2020-11-05 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Both Adair County Judge Gale Cowan and the owners of Holmes Bend Marina said the national fishing tournament was a real win for Adair County. Kelly Caldwell of Holmes Bend Marina said, "I'd just like to say it was a wonderful experience to be able to host the crappie anglers in the CUSA tournament.

"They were a delight and we are very grateful to have been a part of such a great event for Adair county. It was amazing getting to meet people from all over the United States." A total of 122 teams fished the event -- 43 in the Pro Division and 79 in the Amateur Division. A total of $126,000 was distributed to winners.

Heading for the cat food dish

2020-11-05 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Lois Cunningham.
Any hungry animal is well advised to head for that house where the lady feeds every cat in the neighborhood plus a few. This young raccoon is no different. Lois Cunningham writes, "I think he’s lost his family. He’s funny - this morning he just came walking by me as I was feeding the cats, like he didn’t care. Went to the Old Mama's dish - no one does that - and she reached out and smacked him, so he went on to the others."

Go big blue

2020-11-05 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Big blue, in this case, has nothing to do with the state's basketball team, just the biggest bird in the back yard yesterday. It was nearing sunset and several doves were finding dinner until this Blue Jay swooped in and took over.
