Faye Rowe's famous Jam Cake recipe

Christopher writes, "I was going through some files and found this, my Granny Faye's recipe for her famous-in-Adair-County jam cake, along with caramel frosting directions and ingredients (1 stick butter, 2 cups brown sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 2 to 3 cups confectioner's sugar, and, optionally, 3 ounces of cream cheese). So tasty! Maybe not that good for you, but so tasty!"

Green Hills streets flooding

An appeal has been posted on social media from a resident of Green Hills in Columbia for action to stop the street flooding problems. Comments mention that many calls have been made to the City and it is suggested this could be fixed as gas lines are being done in the neighborhood.

Magistrates ask for calls and ideas about taxes

Adair County Magistrates opened the discussion and asked for contacts from citizens who live in their Districts when they felt the dreaded tax word had to be brought up in the budget session at the first Fiscal Court meeting of the new year.

An open public forum will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 4:30pm at the Jim Blair Center, 901 Hudson Street, Columbia, so that anyone wishing to come and make comments can feel safe in the spacious gym during this pandemic. It will also be streamed on the Adair County Fiscal Court Facebook page for any who want to watch.
