Snowflakes over developing oilfields

Snow showers are setting in for the night over the great Oilfields of southern Adair County in the Flatwoods area - as seen by the Pampered girls as they huddle next to the barn.

Red Bird Bus

Gary Hornbaker has shared a few of the photos his father took while he was a minister in the EUB Church in Red Bird Mission in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Gary says "We got stuck in the snow many times in this bus." He says the photo is probably from winter 1961.

First snowflakes over Cane Valley

The first fat, wet snowflakes started in Cane Valley around 3pm. At this posting, just over an hour later, snow is really heavy over Columbia. Weather report says we'll have an 80 percent chance of snow until midnight with a little accumulation.

Adair Fiscal Court hears first responses on tax

A special called meeting was held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Blair Park so that Fiscal Court could welcome citizens who wanted to contribute on the question of a possible tax to help the county continue operations.
