Two older water towers being removed from town 2021-07-20 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. The water tower known as Page Street at the end of Garrett Street, at left, was scheduled to be taken down yesterday, Monday, July 19. Weather permitting, the water tower on Bomar Heights is scheduled to be taken down next week. Watch for traffic delays in both areas of town, and Pine Tree Street may be shut down for a period of time. This is being coordinated through the Columbia Adair Utilities District. At the 2021 Summer Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Breakfast the board of directors announced that Chamber Executive Director Gaye Shaw, at right, will retire at the end of this year after 27 years of service. Kim Harwood will take over the duties of Executive Director on January 1, 2022. On August 2, Kim will begin training.
