City receives donations for CPD drug vehicle 2021-07-27 - Columbia, KY - Photo from City Hall, Columbia, KY. The City of Columbia was recently awarded a grant that assisted with the purchase of a drug vehicle and trailer to be utilized for drug education. The vehicle will be used in education in the school system, activities in the community, and to assist with drug awareness. This week three donations were presented to the police department for assistance with outfitting the vehicle - $5,000 from the local Adair County High School youth service center, $300 from local Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy, and Display from the local Healthy Kids Program at the schools. It used to be a landmark on the trip south from Columbia to Burkesville just before getting to the landmark signs where three counties switch back and forth - Adair, Metcalfe and Cumberland. Word in the neighborhood is that Hayward and Connie Adams sold the property to Dollar General corporation for one of their new country sites.
