Columbia Rotary holds food drive 2021-08-30 - Columbia, KY - Photo by George Kolbenschlag. The Columbia Rotary club staged one of its regular food drives for the adair food pantry Friday evening at Columbia IGA. This year's club president Catherine Wibbels and Rotarian Ted Caldwell were among those representing the club Friday. The club's focus is on community service and their food drive, held four time each year, is one of their many service projects. The Adair club has been serving our county since it was founded in 1935. New members are always welcome. Praying Hands from the Holy Land 2021-08-29 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. The praying hands discovered in the Columbia United Methodist Church Time Capsule were brought back from the Holy Land by pastor Rachel James 25 years ago. She and church treasurer, Jane Akin Keltner, went on a trip to the Holy Land in January of 1995. The trip was led by Bishop Robert Morgan, and several lay persons and pastors from the Louisville and Kentucky Conferences went on the trip. Mama Loumari relaxes and enjoys nature, while her two 'kid giants' are out exploring. Little Elina loves to play with rocks while Little Nis (in this photo) is fascinated with his own reflection. The large scale wooden 'Forest Giants' at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest in Clermont, KY was created in celebration of Bernheim's 90th anniversary.
