Signing up to learn about Education

Program Director and Assistant Professor of Education Jennifer Antoniotti-Neal works with new students interested in studying education at the Academic Forum during fall 2021 move-in day on Saturday, August 28.

For many incoming students, this will be the first time in nearly 18 months they have been in an in-person instructional setting. LWC plans to hold classes at full capacity with masks required for students, faculty and staff.

Academic Forum moves outdoors

Traditionally held in Biggers Sports Center, the Academic Forum was moved onto the lawn to accommodate safety concerns related to the COVID-19 virus and it's variants. LWC will follow guidance from the CDC as well as area health departments to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on its campus. Fall 2021 classes began on Monday, August 30.

Roommates and teammates Elijah Fields, left, from Pikeville, Ky., and Matthew Hendricks from Shepherdsville, Ky., texted one another before move-in day but met for the first time during check in. The new freshmen will live in Horton Hall and plan to be a part of the LWC wrestling program. All LWC athletic programs will follow CDC protocols and follow the guidelines for competitions outlined by the NAIA and the Mid-South Conference. Freshmen friends since elementary school

Elementary school friends and Louisville, Ky., freshmen Maia Sapp, right, and Jade Latarte said that applying for college during the pandemic made things slower than usual and a bit "scarier." Sapp and Latarte are living in the newly renovated Phillips Hall, one of the oldest buildings on the A.P. White Campus. Included in the renovation: new carpet, ceiling tiles and lighting throughout the dorm; the remodel of four bathrooms; and new sinks, backsplashes, wardrobes and smoke detectors in each room. The fall 2021 semester began on Monday, August 30.

LWC students greeted with several improvements

When the new students arrived Saturday to move into the residence halls, they were greeted with several improvements. Receiving a much needed facelift was Phillips Hall -- one of the original three buildings that date to Lindsey Wilson's founding in 1903. From left to right: Phillips Hall Resident Assistants Victoria Kennedy from Shepherdsville, Ky.; Gabrielle Wagner from Mount Vernon, Ky.; Haven Crawford from Louisville, Ky.; Haemin Choi from South Korea; Christina Speck from Albany, Ky.; and Women's Resident Director Shelby Herchenrader from Louisville, Ky. Phillips Hall is reserved for female freshmen students.
