Postcards from LWC: Eddie van Wya

2021-09-07 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Eddie van Wyk.
By Dakota Smith

Hello all! Meet Eddie van Wyk. Eddie is from Pretoria, South Africa, where Harvest Day is celebrated. Harvest Day enables producers and other role players in the agricultural industry to experience the latest technology and products on offer in the farming industry first-hand and on one terrain.

The reason he chose LWC is because he feels that God sent him to leave an influence and have a positive impact. He is looking forward to his track and field season and is enjoying his time in America, but he finds the currency exchange and differences in the metric system the most challenging. If you see Eddie on campus, make sure to say hello!

Columbia's Big Rig Trucker, Big Al, writes, "I met singer John Anderson in Russell County at the July 4th celebration. He was a very nice guy and put on a good show for the people before the fireworks started. He told some stories about how some of his songs came to be. John's signature song is Seminole Wind.
