School Board special called meeting - Report

By Mitzi McKinley Bault for Ed Waggener

There was one item on the agenda at the special called School Board meeting Thursday evening, October 4, 2018 - the rate for the 2018 tax bills. Chair Lisa Burton (Div 3) called the meeting to order.

Dr. Pamela Stephens, superintendent, defined the motion to accept the same tax rate as last year with the only addition being that of taxation of private aircraft. One person appeared to question school taxes and Dr. Stephens responded that things change within this budget just as they do in a home budget.

The School Board voted unanimously to adopt the new aircraft tax added to the same rates as last year's school taxes.
