Kayaking in the rain, then back into the sun

By Mitzi Bault

Saturday was a wonderful day. No kitchen for me! Garden is done for the year and Ricky has cleaned it all off.

Robyn Curry and I made a day of kayaking. We put in at the Mt. Carmel Ramp.

After we paddled a little way out towards the main channel it started to rain.

Most people would go back to the ramp but NOT us. We sat in the rain for about thirty minutes, just giggling and letting the rain cool us off. The sun came back out an off we went for the rest of our day.

The enjoyment of our Saturday kayaking trip included up close views like this - seeing these kids diving off the rocks into the lake then swimming back around to climb up and do it all over again. We paddled on. - MB
