Margie Ann Sneed Elsler, 78, Adair County, KY (1939-2018)


She was retired from General Electric in Louisville, KY, and was a former member of One Community Church in Clarksville, IN. She was a Kosair Shrine Greeterette and past President as well as the Eastern Star, Shrine Apet Guild and a past Maharanee. Her final resting place will be in her native Adair County, at Jones Chapel Cemetery, near Gradyville, KY.She was a member of a prominent Gradyville, Adair County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Roy Claudius & Stella Baker Sneed. She was one of 10 siblings, nine of whom preceded her in death. Her husband of 34 years, Robert A. Elsler, survives. She leaves three direct living descendants. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends.

Margie Ann Sneed Elsler, 78 years of age died Friday June 15, 2018 in Elberta, AL.

Visitation will be 2pm-7pmCT/3pm-8pmET, Thursday June 21, 2018, Kraft Funeral Service 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN.

Visitation in Columbia will be after 9amCT, Friday, June 22, 2018, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Graveside services will be on Friday June 22, at 2pmCT, at the Jones Chapel Cemetery, 2700 Jones Chapel Road, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Mike Moon the officiating clergy.



Margie Ann Sneed Elsler, 78, Adair County, KY (1939-2018)


She was born December 18, 1939 in Columbia, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Roy Claudus & Stella (Baker) Sneed. She died Friday, June 15, 2018, in Elberta, AL, at the age of 78 years, five months, and 28 days.

She was retired from General Electric in Louisville, KY, and was a former member of One Community Church in Clarksville, IN.

Margie was a Kosair Shrine Greeterette and past President as well as the Eastern Star, Shrine Apet Guild and a past Maharanee

She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyne Allen Janes; and nine siblings; Lizzie, Lawrence, Joe, Arine, Roy, Clara, Mary, Montry, and David Sneed.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband of 34 years: Robert A. Elsler

  • Two sons: David Russell Janes and wife Lisa, Mark Duane Church-Janes and husband Ashley

  • A grandchild: Natasha Janes
