Lucille Wooley Brockman Poe, Taylor County, KY (1926-2018)

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Lucille was employed as a secretary with the Taylor County RECC for forty-one and a half years. She loved to cook, was well known for her recipes and owned numerous cookbooks. She was also a wonderful hostess who loved to entertain and have dinner parties and had previously been employed as a hostess at Creekside Restaurant.

Lucille Wooley Brockman Poe, 91, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 10:45pmET, Monday, May 21, 2018 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville by Bro. Steve Orr and Bro. Larry Spears. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 9am-12pmNoonCT/10am-1pmCT, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Lucille Wooley Brockman Poe, 91, of Campbellsville, KY, was the daughter of the late Sherman Wooley & Grace Childers Wooley. She was born October 30, 1926 in Taylor County, KY. She died Monday, May 21, 2018 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 91 years, six months, and 21 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Lucille was employed as a secretary with the Taylor County RECC for forty-one and a half years. She loved to cook, was well known for her recipes and owned numerous cookbooks. She was also a wonderful hostess who loved to entertain and have dinner parties and had previously been employed as a hostess at Creekside Restaurant.

She united in marriage to Ray "Jack" Brockman November 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death September 20, 1990. She later married to Ralph Poe June 11, 1994 and he preceded her in death April 13, 2011.

She is survived by:
  • One sister-in-law: Tina Wooley of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six nieces and one nephew: Brenda Orr and husband, Steve, of Campbellsville, KY; Bobbi Jo Adams, Carol Viers and husband, Daniel of Campbellsville, KY; Wanda Farris, Sheena Mays and husband, Daryl of Campbellsville, KY; Patty West and husband, Ray of Cleveland, Ohio; and Jessie Davis and wife, Cathy of Lexington, KY

  • Special friend: Dean Mings of Campbellsville, KY

  • And other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Jimmy A. Wooley, William Sherman Wooley, Jr. and Ruby Davis.
