Donald Pettyjohn, Liberty, Casey County, KY (1944-2018)

He a Veteran of U.S. Army service and a former gate hauler. He was a native of Casey County, KY, the son of the late Oscar Lee Pettyjohn and Mayme C. Harrod Pettyjohn. His wife, Betty Ann Phelps Pettyjohn, survives. He leaves a large family to carry on his legacy.

Donald Pettyjohn age 73, of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at his residence.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date at the New Testament Baptist Church. Bartle Funeral Home, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, is in charge of arrangements.

Donald Pettyjohn, Liberty, KY (1944-2018)

Donald Pettyjohn was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY, on May 15, 1944. He was a son of the late Oscar Lee Pettyjohn and Mayme C. Harrod Pettyjohn. He passed away on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at his residence in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 19 days.

Donald was a former gate hauler and a U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors include: His spouse: Betty Ann Phelps Pettyjohn
  • Two step sons: Bobby Moore of Prince Charles, VA; and Marcus Chadwell of Liberty, KY

  • Two step daughters: Lori Criswell and Daphne Chadwell both of Liberty, KY

  • Nine step grandchildren

  • Seven step great grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Oscar Pettyjohn Jr of Midway, KY; Dee Pettyjohn of Louisville, KY; and Leon Pettyjohn of Liberty, KY

  • Two sisters: Inez Woodrum and Ina Pettyjohn both of Liberty, KY

  • Preceding him in death besides his parents was One Brother: Hugh Pettyjohn and Three Sisters: Alma Caldwell, Mildred Logsdon and Helen Reed.
