Hannah Peck chosen to lead LWC Alumni Program LWC alumni leaders are excited that Peck was chosen to lead their organization. Peck's first major task of the 2018-19 school year will be to organize LWC's Homecoming Weekend, which will be October 5-6, 2018. She replaces Randy Burns. Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Venus Popplewell, Director of Public Relations COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson College has been a big part of Hannah Peck's life. Now the third-generation Blue Raider has a big opportunity to assist her alma mater as LWC director of alumni relations and annual giving. Peck replaces Randy Burns, who left Lindsey Wilson in January to take a position with Lexington based Christian Appalachian Project. "Randy left behind an alumni base that is stronger than ever," said Peck, a 2012 LWC graduate. "I hope to build on an already successful program by connecting the past with the present. I look forward to getting on the road and meeting other members of the alumni association." Peck was chosen to lead LWC's alumni program after spending the last five years serving as one of the college's admissions counselor. LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. said Peck will make a strong addition to LWC's development efforts. "Hannah is extremely well-equipped and prepared to lead the college's alumni program," Luckey said. "She is passionate about Lindsey Wilson College and its mission to serve all students. She can tell the Lindsey Wilson story as well as anyone because she knows first-hand what makes this college such a special place and how it changes students' lives." As director of alumni relations and annual giving, Peck's responsibilities will include working with the college's 10,000-member national alumni association. More than 7,000 of the college's alumni live in Kentucky, and more than 2,000 of those reside in Southcentral Kentucky. "Alumni relations involves aspects of what I have loved about my job as an admissions counselor - traveling, building relationships, planning and event organization," she said. "So much of it matches my skill set, interests and strengths." LWC alumni leaders are excited that Peck was chosen to lead their organization. "Hannah brings with her, not only the proven results and drive for excellence, she also is committed to the mission of LWC and most importantly, keeping the alumni connected to the growth and development," said LWC National Alumni Association President Jerald Bryant '94 of Columbia. "Hannah demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to stretch her skill set beyond her experience." Peck's family has a deep connection to LWC. She is the daughter of LWC graduate John (Susan) Peck '81, granddaughter of Kathleen Pettey Peck '48 and niece to LWC men's basketball head coach Paul Peck '75. Her great aunt Sue Cravens Stivers is a longtime LWC trustee. Peck's office is located in the Sue Craven Stivers Alumni House. "I spent much of my childhood running around campus and eating in the dining center," said Peck. "And when my Uncle Paul came back to coach - it seemed as if our family ties to the college became even stronger." Peck said her new position also "feels like it is coming full circle." "Anyone who knows me, knows I have always been intrigued by the work of the development office," she said. "I even had an internship with development while I was a student." While an LWC undergraduate, Peck was a member of the Begley Scholars Program, was involved with student government and was a member of the college's theater program. After graduation, she spent one year in LWC's residence life program serving as women's area coordinator. "I could have never imagined the opportunities I would have as a student at Lindsey Wilson," she said. " I had opportunities to be involved on campus, travel and meet people from all over the world - people I am still connected with today." Peck's first major task of the 2018-19 school year will be to organize LWC's Homecoming Weekend, which will be October 5-6. "I'm so pleased Hannah will be joining the development office and leading our alumni program," said Vice President for Development Kevin Thompson. "Her experience and love for Lindsey Wilson College will serve her alma mater well as she works with the college community to build relationships and financial support from the LWC alumni base."
