She was the daughter of the late Roy Haskel & Ocie Opal Edens Spears. She is survived by her companion, Jim Evers. She leaves 21 direct living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Cumberland County, KY

Carrie Nell Spears Hart age 82 of Avon, IN, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Brooke Knoll Village in Avon.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11amCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Perkins Cemetery. The family requests visitation on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 4pmCT until 9pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Carrie Nell Spears Hart, Cumberland Co., KY (1935-2018)

She was born on July 28, 1935 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Roy Haskel & Ocie Opal Edens Spears. She died Sunday, March 11, 2018, in Avon, IN, at the age of 82 years, seven months, and 11 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Short; three brothers, Willie Spears, Howard Spears, and Glen Spears; and three sisters, Sue Burnley, Hilda Jones, and Grace Blair.

Survivors include:
  • Her daughter: Diana Hundley of Indianapolis, IN

  • Her companion: Jim Evers of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two sisters: Alma Bow and Betty Watkins both of Burkesville, KY

  • One brother: J.D. Spears of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two granddaughters: Candy Short, and Stacy White and her husband Jared

  • Two grandsons: Robert Lee Short, Jr. and Chad Mitchell and his wife Angie

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Four great great grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
