A special birthday: Columbia's miracle baby turns 10 Ruby is living proof that miracles do happen. My husband Jarrett and I give much thanks to God and all those who went above and beyond. - KATHRYN MILLER Click on headline for complete story, photo(s) By Kathryn Miller mother of Ruby Anne Miller On February 9, 2008, our daughter, Ruby Anne Miller was born premature, just 24 weeks - weighing 1 pound, 6 ounces and only 10 inches long. Westlake Hospital wasn't equipped for a normal birth much less a premature one and I went into labor so fast that there was no way we could have made it to another facility. However, the staff jumped into action and helped bring this miracle to life. The doctor, nurses, and EMT's/paramedics did an excellent job. After she was born, Ruby spent three months at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. Today she is a healthy 10 year old girl who already stands at 5 feet tall. Ruby is living proof that miracles do happen. My husband Jarrett and I give much thanks to God and all those who went above and beyond. Kathryn Miller This story was posted on 2018-02-09 05:23:41
