Mr. David Franklin Calhoun, Green Co., KY (1945-2018)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of God's House and was a truck driver for over 30 years. Mr. Calhoun was also a veteran having served in the United States Army and will receive full military honors at committal rites. He was the son of the late Warner "Jack" Morrison Calhoun & Flossie Mae Walker Calhoun and the widower of Betty Karen Carman Calhoun, whose passing occurred just 15 days prior to his own. He leaves two direct living descendants.

Mr. David Franklin Calhoun of Green County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 72 years, 8 months, and 23 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. David Franklin Calhoun will be conducted at 12pmNoonCT, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Akin Cemetery in Green County with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Bro. Dale Warren officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: William Lewis, Bobby Thompson, Tommy Calhoun, Danny Thompson, Corey Cochran, Joe Calhoun, and Billy Calhoun.

Mr. David Franklin Calhoun of Green County, KY was the son of the late Warner "Jack" Morrison Calhoun & Flossie Mae Walker Calhoun. He was born on Friday, May 11, 1945 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY. He was 72 years, eight months, and 23 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of God's House and was a truck driver for over 30 years. Mr. Calhoun was also a veteran having served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Karen Carman Calhoun on January 19, 2018 having united in marriage in 1995.

Survivors include:
  • a son: Tommy McCubbins of Greensburg, KY

  • A granddaughter: Alexia Marie McCubbins of Greensburg, KY

  • A brother: Aubrey Calhoun of Greensburg, KY

  • Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Regina Calhoun of Greensburg, KY; Tammy and Terry Carman of Buffalo, KY; and Howard Carman of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Calhoun was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Rollin Calhoun, Veachel Calhoun, Carnell Calhoun, Wilkie Lewis, and Willie Shope.
