Victoria Pike remembers Billy Bloyd as truly one of a kind

Writer became friends with Billy Bloyd while serving with him on the Adair County Democrat Executive Committee
Comments re article 95163: William Turner "Billy Bloyd" Adair Co KY 19412018

By Victoria Pike

Billy was truly one of a kind.

He loved his community and gave his time to many causes.

He loved children and wanted to help them to learn and succeed. He was a teacher and volunteer for many years, even caring enough to run for school board at one time. We became friends on the Adair Democrat Executive Committee where we both have served for several years.

He was always willing and ready to help, whether it was working at the Adair County Fair booth or picking up trash to raise funds for our next project.

Billy will be greatly missed by his community as well as his party.

Billy currently served as Vice Chair for the committee and was one of the first to volunteer to work the polls on Election Day every time an election came around.

We as a community have lost a gentlemen who gave his all to anything he was involved in. --Victoria Pike
